No — DeviceRx is a mobile business. We come to you, help remotely by screen-share, or pick up your device, repair it, and deliver it back across Long Island & Queens, 24/7.

How does the $49 diagnostic fee work?

Accepted Answer

The diagnostic covers inspecting one computer and giving you a written repair estimate. That $49 is credited toward an approved repair of $129 or more. If you decide not to go ahead with the repair, the $49 is still payable — it covers the time spent diagnosing.

Will I ever be charged more than the quoted price?

Accepted Answer

Not without your approval. Time-based services state exactly how much time is included and the rate for anything beyond it, and we always get your go-ahead before additional billable time. Parts and paid software are quoted separately.

Is travel included?

Accepted Answer

Yes — standard travel is included for on-site visits across all of Long Island & Queens, with no surprise trip charges. Pickup-and-delivery repair covers the whole area too, 24/7.

Question 5

Do you guarantee you can fix everything or recover my data?

Accepted Answer

No honest shop can. We'll always explain the risks before any work that could change or erase files, and we never guarantee recovery or preservation of data. Backup and data recovery aren't automatically included in repair prices. For physically damaged drives, we coordinate recovery through professional cleanroom partners.

What about viruses — can you remove any infection?

Our virus & malware removal handles the large majority of consumer infections. But we can't promise every infection is removable or that a system is guaranteed secure afterward, and severe cases (like ransomware) may need a separately approved quote. Ransomware encryption, in particular, often can't be reversed.

What if the repair isn't successful?

If we can't successfully complete your repair, you're only charged the $49 diagnostic fee — not repair labor. Any parts you authorized us to order for the job are still billable, since those are purchased specifically for your device.

Are the monthly IT plans available now?

Accepted Answer

Not yet. The monitoring and backup infrastructure behind them is still being set up, so the plans are shown as starting prices. You can request a consultation and we'll begin with an assessment and a signed agreement once everything's live.

Question 9

How do I pay, and is sales tax added?

We accept all major forms of payment — cash, credit and debit cards, and more. Applicable New York sales tax is added where legally required, and we'll make the total clear in your estimate before you pay.

What information do you need to get started?

Just the basics: your contact info, whether it's home or business, your location, and a description of the problem. We never ask for passwords or payment-card details in our online form.
